The shoes, which retail for around $35 and are an obvious knock-off of the Nike Air Monarch (the ultimate dad shoe), can be authenticated if you check the RN number on the tag. Of course, all this is based on your level of trust of the Stratocaster-strumming crooner. Mayer’s not new to firing jokes at shoe-heads – his “middle shoe” revolution from earlier this year caught him some headlines on GQ and more.
