Hypebeast has been on a collaborative tear throughout 2016. Their latest work of art comes in the form of two upcoming Hyepbeast New Balance MRT580 pairs dubbed the “Land And Space Pack” set to release on August 6th.
After a teaser that showcased an asteroid falling to earth in a grim hint at what the Hypebeast New Balance collaboration’s theme would be, we finally get a detailed preview of the upcoming collection courtesy of My Wife and Kicks. Both shoes come in an oversized black box with individual packaging showing off translucent covers for an interesting twist when compared to traditional boxing choices.
The first New Balance 580 “Land” represents a post-apocalyptic Earth featuring an eerie grayish green upper. The shade pays homage to the exploration of abandoned buildings that ‘captivates the explorer’ in everyone. A hairy suede construction pairs nicely with a ripstop nylon on the toe and ankle collar. The model comes equipped with the updated REVlite midsole for extra cushion in the ride.
Then there’s the updated New Balance 580 Re-Enginered “Earth”, a modern take on the retro running model that utilizes laser cut panels for a lightweight, lifestyle inclined take. The black matte color features white speckles for a starry twist.
