Those of you worried that the adidas NMD R1 will be taking a hiatus during the colder months ahead – don’t. adidas Originals is planning on bolstering everyone’s favorite running-inspired lifestyle offering with suede and leather for the months ahead as previews of an upcoming colorway via EU Kicks showcases a new black suede upper complete with added tan leather accents for a premium overhaul.
The adidas NMD R1 has been one of the most popular summer silhouettes thanks to its breathable mesh or Primeknit upper paired with a full-length Boost midsole for added comfort. It will be interesting to see how the model adapts to Fall/Winter, and here a new suede upper ditches the ventilated mentality for a more supportive offering for colder temperatures. It’s hard to see how suede will affect the build in these preview shots, but the photo below showcasing the adidas NMD’s signature heel support does have a promising look thanks to a lifestyle tan leather. The look matches the heel tab perfectly, as a near selvedge denim look takes over thanks to the use of indigo and tan “The Brand With The Three Stripes” branding throughout.
There’s no word yet on when exactly this adidas NMD Suede and Leather will arrive at retailers, but you can expect a release sometime in the near future. When we get word on a release date, you can expect an update right here on Sneaker News.
