The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 finally released to the public earlier this month, with the massive $720 price-tag doing nothing to deter buyers from lining up at Nike SOHO and the Nike Clubhouse to get a pair. With the shoes expected to release again in the black and grey colorways this month, Nike has stepped into the Throwback Thursday time machine to share some early prototypes of the HyperAdapt. Nike has announced that the shoes will release this Saturday, December 17th at four NIke locations, but if you’re desperate for a pair, grab one now on eBay.

The white version is the first underfoot prototype of the shoe, which matches Tinker’s first sketch and features Flywire, Flyweave, and a self-lacing system that had all five laces tighten simultaneously.
The black prototype is an attempt to hide the self-lacing mechanism more. Notice the lowered collar height as well as the departure from the Nike Mag silhouette (compared to the white prototype).
The third round of prototypes reveals Tiffany and TInker’s decision to expose the mechanism in an effort to reduce weight. These prototypes are dubbed “stealth” to keep the shoe wear-testers in the dark.
