Jordan Brand Shakes Things Up With First-Ever “Mystery” Release

Jordan Brand Shakes Things Up With First-Ever “Mystery” Release

Jordan 9 Baseball Pack Release Info

The upcoming Air Jordan 9 “Baseball Glove” will be a “mystery” release as each pair comes packaged in a sealed black bag and the box labels don’t note the specific colorway. This was done as a throwback to the card collecting hobby and the excitement of opening up packs of baseball cards, but the cost of a pack of baseball cards is obviously considerably less than $250, the MSRP of these limited-edition Air Jordans.

Some have expressed excitement over this release as it does indeed break the overall mundanity of buying shoes these days, while others opined that for $250, the buyer should be able to control what product he/she buys. There are merits to both arguments, but we have to point out that this is just one sneaker release in the grand scheme of things and we appreciate that Jordan Brand is putting out inspired product. If you manage to cop a pair, you’re pulling an MJ “card” anyway! The official drop is this Saturday at select Jordan Brand retailers; Jordan Brand confirms that the hazelnut pair is far more limited than the black pair.
