Is Ronnie Fieg Releasing A Re-tooled Version Of Scottie Pippen’s Nike Air Maestro?

Is Ronnie Fieg Releasing A Re-tooled Version Of Scottie Pippen’s Nike Air Maestro?

Ronnie Fieg Nike Air Maestro Purple

Ronnie Fieg appears to be cooking up something quite interesting with Nike, as the footwear figurehead just teased a never before seen model in a rich purple colorway. The mysterious shoe appears to be a radically remodeled edition of the Nike Air Maestro 2, a 1994 basketball shoe made most notable by Scottie Pippen who wore an all-red pair during the 1994 NBA All-Star Game on the way to claiming the game’s MVP honors. The makeover of the classic hoops shoe features a number of modifications, including an asymmetrical lacing system, zippered enclosures on the medial side, velcro ankle straps, and added toe Swooshes. Fieg also hinted that the purple nubuck colorway is a reference to Pippen’s college basketball days at the small school of the University of Central Arkansas.

No official story behind the shoe or release information has been revealed yet (or if it’s even an official Ronnie Fieg collab), so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more details on the mysterious Maestro.
