The Nike Air Max 97 Is Releasing In A “Grape” Colorway

There’s arguably no sneaker colorway more quintessentially 90’s than “Grape,” a head-turning combination of a rich purple and a bright emerald. First made famous by the iconic “Grape” Jordan 5s, and used on many a classic Nike silhouette since, the much-loved colorway is now returning on a women’s-exclusive Air Max 97. Using a stately black as the base, the upper’s colorful “Grape” accents arrive via one purple and one aqua side panel, both wrapping around the whole foot. Purple swooshes on the midfoot and tongue add an extra dash of flavor, and emerald branding on the black heel tab completes the upper’s look. A white midsole and purple Air Max unit provide contrast, and the shoe is rounded off by a simple black outsole with a final grape-colored hit of branding. These retro Air Max 97s are set to release this June on Nike.com, and will retail for $170.
