Ross Dwyer Nike’s use of military colors on their summer silhouettes continues, as after a desert tan Vapormax Plus and an olive Son Of Mars Low, the Swoosh is adding a rich olive green to the classic Air Max 97. The new colorway features a brown mesh underlay, with the aforementioned olive green arriving on the mudguard, the upper’s top two overlays, and the lacing system. Single black and tan stripes provide a small extra touch of military contrast, and a white midsole offsets the look of the mostly dark upper. An olive Air Max cushioning unit and outsole complete the shoe’s look. Expect this new Air Max 97 to release on Nike.com sometime this summer with a standard retail price of $160 USD.
