Patta And Mizuno Bring Back The Sky Medal

Maximalist silhouettes are unquestionably the hottest trend in sneakers this summer, and Mizuno—a brand known almost entirely for their performance running models—has been enjoying a moment in the style spotlight with their classic Wave Rider. Now, the Japanese brand is ready to re-introduce another classic sneaker, as the OG Sky Medal trainer is returning this month in collaboration with none other than Patta.

The Amsterdam-based brand’s refined touch is immediately apparent on the collaborative sneaker, as the upper arrives in a clean combination of white mesh and grey suede while Mizuno’s classic flowing Runbird symbol is dressed in burnt orange. A premium black leather is used for the co-branded tongue—which features orange Patta and light purple Mizuno embroidery—the sockliner and co-branded insole feature the same premium black leather, and the re-worked classic is completed with a sail-colored midsole. Look for this special Sky Medal to release August 11th, both at Patta’s retail locations and on their website.
