With Africa’s culture of long-distance running fundamentally in mind, Pharrell and adidas are back to reprise their incredible relationship with a three-piece set of the brand new SOLARHU Glide silhouette. Utilzing a performance-engineered model inspired by the famed Ultra BOOST, this collection opts for a rich array of bold patterns and vibrant colors from the Eastern part of Africa. Through Williams’ distinguished collections of adidas footwear, he preaches equality, justice, and self-confidence, which goes perfectly with the sport of a running – an activity with one of the lowest barriers of entry across the globe.

“Africa is a beautiful continent and the origin of civilization,” Pharrell said. “Running is a state of meditation. Why not go back to the motherland and take inspiration from such a vivid and rich culture? Why not create a tribute to this incredible sport? Why can’t the shoe that people wear on the street have a performance function? This is what we sought to achieve with this collection.”

This collection’s whimsical color palette borrows hues from colors typical found on African nation’s flags while the matching apparel collection comes adorned in gold, purple, burgundy, cyan, and collegiate red and green. Upon this collection’s September 25th arrival fans will have their choice between three BOOST-equipped iterations, with one sporting primarily orange and the other two opting for white and black respectively with greens, reds, and more sprinkled in.
