Ross Dwyer Long-time Asics stockist mita has been called upon to help the brand celebrate the 25th anniversary of their iconic GEL-Kayano sneakers, and they’re doing it the best way they know how: with their classic “Trico” color scheme. The partners are set to release both a cutting-edge GEL-Kayano 25 and a retro GEL-Kayano trainer adorned in the signature combo of red, white, and blue — for a look that nods to the shoe’s past and present at the same time. Both shoes serve up a combo of blue hues on the upper with white and blue flecked laces, while a combination of red, white, and grey hit the midsole. Each pair is then completed with a special chain-link mita insole. The collaboration offers an interesting look into both the genesis and the future of the Kayano timeline by way of both the oldest and the newest model in the series, and is sure to be a hit with Asics lovers the world over. Look for both shoes to drop October 6th in mita’s home country of Japan, with a possible global release to follow later this fall.
