Ben Felderstein Just over a year ago, adidas’ Ultra BOOST silhouette arrived on the brand’s miadidas customization platform with iridescent XENO panelling for the first time. XENO is a highly luminescent material that lights up when under the right light, bringing a vibrant flash of color to an otherwise mundane creation. This head-turning coating initially became popular on the ZX Flux silhouette, a model rich with panelling, adorned with an endless array of color blocking capabilities. Now it is back on the famed Ultra BOOST, spicing up the midfoot cage and the heel cup of both a black and a white iteration. XENO-infused pairs began at $220 USD before customization charges kicked in last year, so it is likely that the two offerings you see below will boast a similar price point upon their arrival at adidas.com and other Trefoil stockists in the near future.
