Ross Dwyer The Air Max 98 has been at the front of the Swoosh Brand’s lifestyle offerings for the past few seasons, and for good reason. It presents a retro look that’s not quite as sleek as an Air Max 97, but not quite as bulky as the Air Max 95, establishing a perfect middle ground for Air Max fans. Now, it’s surfaced in a “University Red” colorway that’s reminiscent of the ultra-popular, Prada-inspired Supreme Air Max 98s from 2016 — the collaboration that originally helped bring the 98 back into mainstream consciousness. Bold red leather accents sit on top of a stark white mesh base, while a strip of reflective material runs around the red leather midfoot and three more small reflective hits appear on the lace loops and heel tab for low-light style. A red nubuck mudguard provides interesting material contrast with the red leather midfoot piece, and the look is then completed by a white midsole, clear Air Max unit, and red outsole.
