2018 has been a year packed chock-full of buzzy collaborations for Nike. Continued partnerships with Virgil Abloh of Off-White and Jun Takahashi of UNDERCOVER produced some of the most desirable sneakers of the year, but Fear Of God designer Jerry Lorenzo may have stolen the show as the calendar prepares to turn over to 2019. Lorenzo’s basketball-inspired two-pack of original silhouettes — the Air Fear Of God Shoot Around and Air Fear Of God 1, both designed in tandem with Leo Chang, the man responsible for Nike’s Kevin Durant signature line — won the hearts of hoops and high fashion heads alike with their hybrid court/lifestyle look. Lorenzo’s got more in the chamber after the first release too, as “Light Bone” versions of both shoes are set to drop soon, and official images of the “Light Bone” Shoot Arounds recently surfaced.
A takedown version of the FOG 1, the Shoot Around boasts the same high-top silhouette, heel zipper, and thick midsole with a double-stacked Zoom unit as its “big brother,” but showcases its basketball inspiration in a different way. A traditional strap adorns the very top of the high-cut collar, and extra-long laces with a clasp system wrap directly around the ankle to compensate for the lack of a midfoot cage. A bold black Swoosh standing out against the stark bone-colored background then wraps up the look. No release date has been announced for these new FOG Nikes yet, but enjoy a thorough look at the new kicks below, and expect them to release soon for $300 USD.
