Ross Dwyer By combining an Air Max Plus-style upper with a Vapormax cushioning unit, Nike’s Vapormax Plus offers a look that’s both rooted in Swoosh Brand heritage and inherently futuristic. It’s served as a slate for several interesting colorways and alternate embellishments as of late, and the latest new take to surface features both a grid pattern and a gradient. A geometric black grid appears over the molded white upper, making for an interesting design that really calls attention to the shoe’s texture. Meanwhile, gradient detailing appears on both the plastic overlays and the Air Max bubble: the former features a clear-to-purple fade, while the latter opts for a minty light green towards the toe that eventually gives way to a chilly blue on both the midfoot and heel. The head-turning design is then rounded off with a simple white Cushlon midsole and white heel detailing complete with a classic TN badge.
