Popularized by Penny Hardaway, sustained by sneaker lovers nationwide, and still iconic in its stylings two decades and some change after it first released, the Air Foamposite One is unquestionably one of Nike’s most highly regarded ’90s basketball silhouettes. Its unique beetle shell-inspired composite upper makes it ripe for singular embellishments, and the latest eye-catching style to dress it up is a black-and-white snakeskin print. Drawing from the patterns found on pythons, this Foamposite puts white reptilian details over a black base, and adorns the eyestays with black leather in place of the normal nubuck to lock in the premium feel. It’s not all black-and-white here though: a habanero red is used to provide accents — branded and otherwise — on the upper, and that same sweltering tone also appears on the outsole under the midfoot’s carbon fiber plate to complete the look. If you’re a Foam fanatic, you can expect this new pair to release on May 25th for $220 USD, so get ready for the drop and check out a set of photos below while you wait.
