Nike’s Popular Air Max Plus Appears With Spray Gradient Uppers

First released back in 1998, Nike’s ever-popular Air Max Plus has seen a veritable smorgasbord of special styles in the two decades-plus it’s been on the market, and now it’s surfaced with a bold new embellishment: spray gradient uppers. Although one of the Plus’s most recognizable design features is its wavy plastic overlays, they’re nowhere to be seen here as the upper opts for a simple white mesh construction. Gone also is the regular small textured Swoosh, replaced instead by a silver printed variant with a black outline. Orange spray-painted style accents then tumble down from the throat and toebox — as if an artist took a spray can and painted a bold line directly across the shoe’s center — providing flecked detailing that stops right above the aforementioned Swoosh. A white leather mudguard and white toe bumper then tie the upper together, and a white midsole with an orange gradient fade on the midfoot shank encases clear Air Max cushioning units. The look is then completed by an opaque icy blue outsole. Grab a detailed look at these interesting new Pluses below, and expect a release on Nike.com in the coming weeks as well.
