The adidas Harden Vol. 3 “Imma Superstar” Is Inspired By The Classic Shelltoes

When James Harden was a beardless whippersnapper, he wrote a letter to his mother telling her that he was going to be a star when he grew up. His youthful proclamations came true, as he’s now one of the best players in the NBA — and potential back-to-back league MVP — so adidas is continuing their history of nodding to that prophetic note with a special take on the Harden Vol. 3. The shoe’s main design feature is its crinkled gold leather, an embellishment that nods to Harden’s star status, personal awards, and the classic embellishment present on the tongue of the adidas Superstar all at once. Black and white accents provide contrast, Harden’s #13 is debossed on the heels, and both “Imma” and “Superstar” are printed on the right and left shoes, respectively, to lock in the homage stylings. A bouncy white Boost midsole and herringbone-patterned outsole then arrive to ensure the shoe’s performance stacks up to its bold look.
