Ross Dwyer With a release right over the horizon, the anticipation around sacai and Nike’s collaborative project is continuing to build, and now we have a look at yet another compelling pair from the partnership, albiet one that won’t release until next season: a black/grey/white take on the Nike Blazer. The design’s doubled-up patchwork aesthetic plays perfectly with the simple greyscale color palette, as no individual piece commands a lion’s share of the attention, allowing the viewer to take in the sui generis style as a whole. The upper uses a stark black accented with sleek grey tones, while both the midsole and heel add a crisp white for contrast. Overlapping black/grey Swooshes and the duo of foam tongues offer just enough branded flair, while the heel collar combines both the Nike and Sacai logos above the substantially-stacked back of the midsole. A compelling creation that shows off the Blazer’s best features by multiplying them — and also serves as a sibling of sorts to sacai’s light grey LDWaffles — you can look for this new colorway to release during the fall of 2019 for $140 USD.
