If you have plans to celebrate the wildly festive Puerto Rican Day Parade in NYC early next month, take a gander at your next shoe purchase. Nike has outfitted the Air Max 1 retro banger with a straightforward colorway that implements the colors of the Puerto Rican flag on the upper in a mismatched alternate layout, with the actual flag itself prominently featured on the heel in place of the standard Nike Air logo. Even a custom tongue label with PR appears just before the Swoosh, while a message of “Pa’lante mi gente” appears on the inner side. Expect a drop in early June, and don’t forget to the check out the Air Force 1 Puerto Rico while you’re at it.
