Ross Dwyer The unique Reebok Club C Revenge combines the upper of the Revenge — a tennis shoe from 1986 — with the midsole of a Club C, and now 43einhalb has given the retro-tinged sneaker a brand-new “Revenge Of Rui” makeover. Part of a Reebok’s “International Food” pack that also offers special makeups from Overkill and Asphalt Gold, this special new Club C Revenge is in fact a homage to Rui’s Restaurant, a famous London-based noodle eatery. In Rui’s canon, the founder was a panda who was jeered at by high-end chefs owing to his “simple” family noodle recipe, so this hybrid design features a panda-esque white leather upper accented by black suede stripes. The black laces feature all-over text print that bounces back and forth between 43einhalb logos and “The Cooking Panda,” while the tongue shows a panda with a logo-ed chef’s toque on his head. Down below, a simple white midsole and outsole complete the look. The shoes also come packaged with a “menu” and chopsticks, all ensconced in a fold-down takeout box to truly lock in their inspiration. They’ll release on July 27th for $85 USD, so check out a store list below to see which retailers will have stock.
