adidas has been celebrating 30 years of Torsion tech this summer, and after re-releasing classic models like the ZX6000, they’re now looking to Y-3 for a fresh take on Torsion, and Yohji Yamamoto’s brand has offered just that with this bold new makeup. Fittingly dubbed the Y-3 ZX Torsion, the design combines elegance and technicality in equal measures. The upper offers a white mesh base that’s overlaid with an abstract-shaped wavy suede mudguard and a low-slung, sharply-angled heel tab with Yamamoto’s signature. The lacing system is undeniably compelling as well with an overlaid look that makes it look as if it’s barely hanging onto the upper. Down below, a two-piece midsole is equipped with a criss-crossing Torsion bar and packed full of Boost cushioning to complete the fusion of classic support and modern-day comfort. These bold adidas shoes will release on August 22nd for $300 USD, so check a retailer list directly below to see where you can secure a pair.
