Ross Dwyer Legendary British rocker Liam Gallagher is open about his love for adidas, even displaying the adidas Spezial mod trefoil logo on stage during his gigs, and now the renowned musician is teaming up with the Trefoil Brand’s heritage-geared sub label for a brand-new LG SPZL silhouette. Based off the classic Padiham SPZL, the shoe features a light cream suede upper with leather detailing on the Three Stripes midfoot overlays and the eyestays. Gallagher’s visage appears stamped on the tongue in black, and a gold foil hit on the lateral midfoot offers a further callout. A leather sockliner and gum outsole then complete the look. When asked about the shoe’s design process, Spezial director Gary Aspden quipped “I have known Liam for over 20 years and we have always got on. He is one of the people who has worn and supported what we do with adidas Spezial since day one so this collaboration evolved organically.” With this kind of relationship between brand and artist, it’s safe to say that this collaboration makes plenty of sense … definitely maybe, of course. Gallagher is set to release a new album titled “Why Me? Why Not?” this September, so his special adidas shoes will precede its arrival when they debut on August 30th.
