We all remember the first responses to Kanye West’s first YEEZY design with adidas. Leaked via camera phone while Kanye was miles in the sky sitting in first class, the high-top Yeezys garnered a maelstrom of scathing responses on social media – a bonafide “What are those?” moment before the phrase ever went viral. Since then, Ye’s footwear concepts have set global trends, with models like the Yeezy 350 becoming the “it” shoe for anyone looking to give a boost in cool-factor for bland sneaker rotations. It’s now time for Kanye to send polarizing waves in the fashion footwear game again, and 2020’s Yeezy Foam Runner – a silhouette that may not be operating under the adidas Yeezy umbrella – seems like the right shoe to do just that.
This clog-like shoe was originally spotted on the feet of daughter North, but these photos revealed by Yeezy Mafia (originally from The Face Magazine) give us the best look yet at the molded foam shoe. Featuring no laces or any moving parts whatsoever, the Foam Runner makes use of a porous construction, drawing comparisons to every line-cooks go-to shoe – the Croc. Transparent and see-through uppers are still a bit of a trend in sneaks, so it’s not like the shoe isn’t wearable – we’d just advise against rocking them in any precipitous condition.
The Yeezy Foam Runner is set to drop in 2020, but if you’ve got your sights set on something a little more closer to present day, read more about the Yeezy 350 Cloud White will officially release on September 21st.
