The Basement’s Nike Air Max 90 “City Pack” Is Inspired By Glasgow, Manchester, And London

Slowly trickling out teases to their second-ever Nike collaboration, internet group The Basement, with their quite massive UK-based following, continues to unveil more and more on their three upcoming colorways which have only just now showed up all together. An absolute classic if there ever was one, the Air Max 90, whose Tinker Hatfield design has only elevated its cultural relevance, has since become a mainstay within the creative culture of Europe and is now being celebrated through make-ups inspired by three of the most prominent cities: Glasgow, Manchester, and London.

The collective, with a Facebook group of massive numbers and filled to the the brim with fervent applause of the collaboration itself, has taken three distinct takes with some shown just subtly through their own Instagram. With its bright orange accents, the Glasgow, is a make-up inspired by construction itself with hi-vis traffic cones covering its insole print while darker grays add a more cement connection across much of its upper. Much darker by comparison, the Manchester, is almost entirely neutral in its swathe of full black reflective topped with the Jewel swoosh so coveted by many and Cordura fabrics notable thanks to its works with Supreme’s many accessories. Tinted lighter with hits of Wolf Grey, the London is somewhat more adventurous with removable swooshes further playing on inventive branding; darker detailing sparingly contrast with insoles finished off by all-over graphics referencing online anonymity.

The Glasgow is dropping October 5th, The Manchester on October 12th, and the London on October 19th.
