With snakeskin being a large part of Nike’s own brand of releases, it seems fellow umbrella label Converse is taking on some of those very same treatments though atop the Chuck 70. Mixing in playful palettes, the Boston stalwarts are taking their own spin on the luxury tooling with sequin materials making up the scales of the once canvas upper. Soles units and the signature cap toe are largely untouched, leaving only the main modifications do the talking. Composed solely of two tones — a black and floral orchid — the reptilian patterns create the iconic pattern with gleam bouncing off thanks to direct light. Darker shades create an almost chainlink fence with the shape in between lined with the bright pink; each sitting in perpetuity, the pair maximizes its real estate appropriately DIY-esque laces reminding of chenille stems.
