Michael Le adidas Y-3 and Boost don’t often go hand-in-hand, but quite a few releases from the line-up’s past has broken the mold of its more technical aesthetics with an appropriate dosage of performance ethos. And while the sub-series hasn’t fully adhered to the patented inline brand of design, it has struck up a few tries at the Pure Boost, a release that was once one of the hottest sneakers on the market. Ostensibly borrowing from that very same energy, Y-3 is effectively transferring over the same Boost sole unit to an upper more retro than futuristic. Overlays — out of the three total colorways — are nothing too out of the ordinary with standard heel wraps and toe caps of suede and leather, respectively, though an inner mesh lies much more sheer than is typical, revealing a layer of Three Stripes logo hits and few contrasting panels. Find the Triple White and Multicolor right below and expect a Triple Black to coincide at select retailers on December 5th.
