Elliot Santiago If you’ve ever taken a trip to Amsterdam, Netherlands, you’ll notice that within many corners of the city, the aesthetically pleasing Dutch buildings, cafes, and “coffee shops”, all happen to share similar DNA in their appearance. Elements of brownstone to brick to woodgrain all seem to consistently find themselves within much of the city’s structures, and this month, adidas wants to pay tribute to the city by bringing back its low-profile casual Amsterdam silhouette in a colorway aimed to mimick the European epicenter’s personality. This is accomplished mostly through its minimal color-blocking, which allows a majority of its suede upper to steal the show as it gets painted in a muted brown, followed a half-half blend of beige and yellow to line the striping, heels, and tread for a palette loosely representative of an afternoon sunset that falls upon the Amstel River.
