The Nike Air Force 1 Type Gets A Rugged Black And Gum Treatment

The Nike Air Force 1 Type Gets A Rugged Black And Gum Treatment

The Nike Air Force 1 Type, in its series of distinct looks, has never strayed far from a technical design aesthetic. And though its latest still bears a small fraction of that ethos — through the way of synthetic fabrications and modified tongues — it’s quite a far ways away from its comfort zone, ostensibly drawing inspiration from more storied leather ateliers in its every treatment. Rugged and doctored to the point of seeming distress, the upper’s core fabrication dresses to a finish faded, as if its black polish was intentionally removed via sand wash or adjacent methods. From the toe box backwards unto the heel, the hardened material remains remiscent of boots rather than sneakers, only snapping back into familiarity by way of its standard tooling, strapped heel, and scattered swooshes. Grab a detailed look at this pair right here, and if you’re looking to grab a set, they’ll likely hit select shops and nike.com soon.
