HANON And Mizuno Display Their Shared Love Of Whisky With The Sky Medal “The Angel’s Share”

HANON And Mizuno Display Their Shared Love Of Whisky With The Sky Medal “The Angel’s Share”

Approaching their 30th anniversary with hands full, retailer HANON is teaming up with the Japanese sportswear institution Mizuno for their very own take on the Sky Medal silhouette, drawing influence from spirits in reference to their respective country’s shared love of whisky. Dubbed “The Angel’s Share,” the colorway pays homage to the percentage of alcohol that evaporates into the air during storage — a small 2% as far as Scottish standards go. But the design rarely touches on these themes overtly; rather, its corduroy uppers seem to express connection to the wood-constructed cask and the shade of the liquor itself instead of the celestial. Seldom hits of blue, however, subtly call to the latter, breaking up the palette of earth tones in a more aqua-akin shade. These take up seat along the Run Bird as well as the top line and lining, accenting around a mix of light reams, red edges, and a luxe suede mahogany. Both imprint’s trade logos along the tongues — debossed subtly for a more minimal appearance — with a similar treatment finding place along the heel as well. Take a look at the pair in detail just below and expect to find these up for raffle right now with its end date currently set for February 21st.
