Breaking Bad And K-Swiss Add Walter White’s Hazmat Suit To The Classic 2000

Breaking Bad And K-Swiss Add Walter White’s Hazmat Suit To The Classic 2000

AMC’s Breaking Bad series masterfully ended to the tune of Badfinger’s “Baby Blue” back in 2013. Since then, Walter White’s tragedy has been followed by Better Call Saul (2015), a prequel, and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019), which saw Jesse Pinkman finally redeem himself. And to celebrate the Vince Gilligan-created universe, K-Swiss is bringing Heisenberg’s iconic hazmat suits and RV to sneaker form with a trio of its Classic 2000.

“Cooking” and “Cleaning” colorways add zippered shrouds to the low-top silhouette. White leather bases peek from underneath the former’s yellow cover, just as Heisenberg’s t-shirt does when catching a breath after…”cooking.” Breathing apparatuses are faithfully reinterpreted at the heel, as grey canvas spines are complemented with vibrant pink buckles. “Cleaning” counterparts feature all the aforementioned details, but in a black, high-vis orange and grey scheme that nods to the meth-cooking duo’s time under Gustavo Fring. Breaking Bad’s periodic table logo stamps the lateral heel on both pairs. Elsewhere, white midsoles/icey blue translucent outsoles round out these two Classic 2000s, with the latter revealing black “HEISENBERG” text.

Reissued from last year, the “Recreational Vehicle” pays tribute to Mr. White and Cap’n Cook’s humble beginnings. Shroud-free uppers are clad in light cream and transplant the mobile kitchen’s retro brown/orange stripes from forefoot to heel. Debossed “BR” and “BA” squares subtly appear on the tongue, while recreating the show’s title screen on the insoles alongside graphics of the stolen 1986 Fleetwood Bounder. This pair extends the Breaking Bad theme onto its packaging, too: Green periodic table paper wraps the shoes in a box nodding not only to the RV’s paint job, but also its five bullet-holes.

The limited edition Breaking Bad x K-Swiss collection is available today, February 20th, just days before Better Call Saul’s Season 5 premiere. “Recreational Vehicle” Classic 2000s are priced at $80 USD, while their hazmat suit co-stars come in at $90 USD each.
