Michael Le Understandably cautious with their classics — the GEL-Lyte III, V, and more — ASICS has approached newfound releases with a fair bit of reservation, testing the waters before making big leaps. Seen in their use of color, their general releases, and even their collaborations, this somewhat slower cadence has affected their wilder transformations within the Sportstyle framework, though with the inception of the GEL-Lyte XXX, it looks that is slowly beginning to change. Bearing the same design as the previously revealed Modern Tokyo GEL-Lyte III, the unnumbered pair takes on a visually abstract assortment of black and white; the latter seats the base in a blinding manner, with few matching accents taking to the eye stay, the tread, and the applied graphics, while black adds contrast against the toe cap, heel, and the second coat along the aforementioned motifs. But aside from its display, the silhouette is much more unique for its structure whose heel bears an exaggerated angle and whose paneling cuts relatively minimal and more futuristic.
