The Nike KD 13 “Hype” Offers Up Fashionable Luxury

As one of the newer entries in Kevin Durant’s roster of signature silhouettes, the Nike KD 13 only has so few colorways to its name. After a monochrome debut, it’s dressed up in space themes and camo soles, but while those are more appropriate as universal GRs, this latest “Butterflies and Chains” iteration contrasts with bold themes that effectively channel Versace level luxury. Its entire upper, which is relatively seamless save for the pronounced stitch at the toe and heel, is sprawled with an all-over screen print — one that not only depicts its titular mentions but also a strong, ethereal backdrop of vibrant blues, reds, and pinks. Elsewhere, black leather overlays shroud above the heel wrap up to the eye stay, adding gloss just underneath a shiny gold swoosh that obscures partially at the blank white tooling. Darkened treads finish the bottom as it does the lining and tongue, but for further expensive sense, the pair embellishes its laces and top branding with extra gold threads. Grab a detailed look at these here, and though they’re rumored to arrive on April 10th, it’s possible that their Nike.com and retailer release will be delayed.

In other news, the Air Jordan 1 Court Purple has been postponed to April 11th.
