The Nike Zoom Freak 1 “Pumping Iron” Inspired By Giannis’ Inspirational Transformation

The Nike Zoom Freak 1 “Pumping Iron” Inspired By Giannis’ Inspirational Transformation

Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo being unable to put on a show on the NBA hardwood during this COVID-19 pandemic, his Nike Zoom Freak 1 signature shoe has kept fans entertained, not only via gamer-exclusives with NBA2K, but also through in-line releases. The latter will soon add a “Smoke Grey/Metallic Silver” option for kids complete with regal “Metallic Gold” accents.

Uppers and bottoms on this Zoom Freak 1 are clad in a greyscale arrangement inspired by Antetokounmpo’s muscle-gaining journey. And while not new to the Greek Freak’s first Nike silhouette, the color scheme forgoes any visually-striking contrast from previous appearances. Unlike on an EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League) iteration, lateral side backwards Swooshes, which are abandoned on the upcoming Zoom Freak 2, blend into their “Smoke Grey” surroundings. Branding counterparts across the laces, tongue, sockliner and heel, however, add some opulent, MVP-friendly flair into the mix.

Enjoy official images of this kids’ Freak 1 here below while you wait for pairs to hit Nike.com on May 2nd.

Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Jordan 5 Fire Red also arrives on May 2nd in full-family sizing.
