Mountain Research Turns The Reebok DMX Trail Shadow Into An Anarchic Hiker

Mountain Research Turns The Reebok DMX Trail Shadow Into An Anarchic Hiker

From General Research to Mountain Research, the Japanese label has produced a massive amount of standout outdoors gear, with some of their most iconic pieces still sought after years down the road. Designer Setsumasa Kobayashi, whose pedigree essentially speaks for itself, is now taking a more collaborative approach with his 2020 offerings, previously teaming up with retailer HAVEN and currently taking up arms with sneaker purveyor Reebok. Filtered through his newfound penchant for anarchic mountaineering, the forthcoming DMX Trail Shadow is converted to a more traditional hiking boot — its entire construction intentionally stripped of reflective accents, mesh, and embossing to achieve such a look. In their place, a much sturdier camel-tinged nubuck constructs, adding a subtle formation of vector-shaped perforations and the silhouette’s iconic crampon-inspired cages alongside. Elsewhere, the imprint’s signature ethos takes form in text driven embellishments: at the heel, “HOLIDAY IN THE MOUNTAIN” is proudly stamped while the inside tongue boasts their rebellious slogan. Grab a detailed look at these here, and if you’d like to get your hands on a pair, they’re dropping first through Mountain Research on April 17th and then globally at Reebok.com April 24th.

In other news, a Brain Dead Classic Leather was just revealed.
