Frequent collaborators Vans and BILLY’S TOKYO have followed-up their recent Sk8-Hi collection with two low-top silhouettes covered with cherries.
The Classic Slip-On and Authentic have acted as the two brand’s collaborative canvas before, though they’re latest ditch any vibrant orange, green and pink previously used. Instead, uppers on both the Slip-On and Authentic are entirely clad in black and sit atop a standard white midsole/waffle outsole combination. Rich red cherry patterns interrupt the tonal scheme, though they’re arranged differently on each pair. The laceless silhouette features the embroidered fruit from midfoot to forefoot akin to Damien Hirst‘s take for the Palms Casino Resort. By contrast, the Authentic keeps its toe box decluttered, isolating the scarlet fruit from midfoot to heel. Both pairs sport white lateral “VANS” tabs and red “OFF THE WALL” license plates at the rear.
