Michael Le sacai — much like their peers Rokh, Chanel, Bode, and many others — just recently joined the COVID-19 relief efforts alongside the newly established imprint Protege Ton Soignant, a non-profit that is placing some of the most notable names in fashion at the heart of their fundraising efforts. The Japanese label’s component, which spans a small series of elegant apparel as it does some men’s shirting, is likely one of the most significant as Chitose Abe infuses two customized versions of her latest collaborative Nike LDWaffle. Both the white and black colorways will be reprising their suede and nylon constructions once again, remaining relatively close to their original appearance save for some small tweaks along the sides and laces. The latter is switched out for a ribbon of bright blue — the aforementioned organization’s signature colors — while the embroidery by the ankle does the same as it threads with “Protege Ton Soignant” in a characteristic fashion.
