Nike Officially Unveils The 2020 N7 Collection

Though a bit of a step back in terms of size, this year’s N7 collection brings out quite a few standouts from lifestyle, running, basketball, and even athleisure. After the reveal of the Kyrie 6 N7 yesterday, we’re taking a deeper dive into the rest of the full capsule whose four-part set makes use of an array of different patterns.

And while aesthetically one of the more focused, the capsule lacks nothing in terms of storytelling. Silhouettes — despite their distinct color blocking and unique use of tones — all come together under the umbrella of intergenerational healing. This idea is expressed through floral patterns inspired by heritage plants, an overt reference to the traditional methods of healing that many of the North American Indigenous communities share. Aloe, yucca, wild rose, dandelion, and prickly pear all define the core color story, all taking center stage on the forthcoming releases.

The Air Max 90, which sets the tone as the ostensible lead, mostly makes use of color instead of graphics; heather grey textures create handmade feel atop the mudguard while natural colored suedes and white mesh outfit just above. Pastel red swooshes stand out apart from the rest of the neutral backdrop, complementing the light volt of the eye stay and air bubble molds. “N7” stamps just atop the tongue in a way similar to the adjacent Venture Runner whose palettes are made understated to shine light on the underlying pink and green florals. Kyrie’s component explores the athlete’s own roots in the culture with the Kyrie 6 as his proxy — all-seeing eye iconography follows behind star and mountain symbols that nod to his community and his own Lakota name. Much more simple than the rest, the Benassi Slides opt for two-toned color blocking and debossed branding.

Grab a look at the entire range of footwear here and expect to see each — as well as an accompanying set of apparel — at Nike.com later this month on June 21st.
