Jovani Hernandez Amid uncertainty surrounding the end of the 2019-20 NBA season, Converse has revealed its performance-basketball-oriented Solstice Collection. The four-piece range includes two pairs of both the yet-to-debut-in-game Converse G4 and the heritage-inspired Converse All Star Pro BB.
First seen in promotional material for Draymond Green’s signing with Converse, the G4‘s two low-top options in this collection are inspired by daytime and nighttime play. The former boasts a “Photon Dust” base featuring “Amethyst Grey” across the laces, collar, and heel. By comparison, the second G4 is predominantly clad in “Black” – though “Solar Red” and “Fresh Mint” interrupt the nighttime scheme at the collar and outsole, respectively, à la Nike Air Yeezy 2. While varied in color palettes, both pairs deliver the performance benefits of Nike React foam and Nike Zoom Air technologies.
The Kelly Oubre Jr.-endorsed All Star Pro BB arrives in low and mid-top versions via Converse’s Solstice Collection. Each silhouette – co-created with Eric Avar of the Nike Kobe 6 – features semi-transparent, Quad-axial woven uppers. The shorter trim boasts a “University Blue/White” arrangement, while its taller counterpart throws “Game Royal/Total Orange” into the mix. Both, however, ostensibly nod to Michael Jordan’s use of the Converse Fastbreaks throughout his time at the University of North Carolina.
