The Nike Waffle Racer Makes Use Of Recycled Tongues And Heels

As far as retro silhouettes are concerned, simplicity is generally best, but with Nike’s current itch for experimentation, even classics such as the Waffle Racer are being turned on their heads. Composed of various neons and a slew of different textures, the silhouette’s current outfit leans heavily into modern trends and innovation as its heel wrap bears the recycled Grind fabric that has made headlines via the Vapormax 2020 and the Space Hippie collection. Elsewhere, though, the construction is relatively ordinary as mesh and suede dress the unders and overlays, respectively. Bright green swooshes stand apart thanks to its pastel green shading, complementing the pinks at the tooling as well as the lace and tongue patch. Heel tabs finish with a bit of red text and purple backdrops, adding yet another to the palette which is effectively reflected in the all-over print seen at the tongue. Grab a detailed look at these right here, and as they’re currently available overseas, expect to find them at Nike.com very soon.
