As 2020 has run its course, one of the most oft-appearing silhouettes this year has certainly been the New Balance 992. The Boston-based imprint has given the silhouette countless moments to shine both through GR-related drops, as well as hot-ticket collaborations with the likes of KITH, JJJound, WTAPS, and others. For the month of September, the model has elected to continue pushing its partnership momentum by linking up with notable streetwear/sneaker retailer Packer.
The project itself is a celebration of New Balance’s Made in USA craftsmanship, exemplified in their official lookbook with the help of Michael C. Thorpe, a Boston-born artist who now resides in Queens, and whose unique quilted artwork has been displayed via solo exhibitions in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Packer’s rendition is one of classical constructions and Fall-friendly aesthetic, with mesh underlays are given an off-white complexion, and come packaged with sultry suede overlays dyed in an Autumn-appropriate yellow. Moreover, the lower throat has been modified with grey pebbled accents that add just the right amount of modernized touches. Scroll further down to see an in-depth look at the pair, and find these dropping exclusively on Packer.com come September 12th for $240 USD.
