Michael Le Arguably Virgil Abloh‘s most original silhouette yet, the upcoming Off-White x Nike Rubber Dunk blends together elements from both the ever-popular Dunk and retro staples from the famed Pegasus line of runners. Prepared in three arrangements, the pack is soon to release across the globe to three regions — the “University Gold” colorway pictured here designated for China and the Asia-Pacific.
Though its University Blue Rubber Dunk and Green Strike Rubber Dunk alternates honor early 2000s palettes and Abloh’s taste for versatility, respectively, the “University Gold” stands strong in homage to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The luxe metallic adorns the overlays all across from toe to heel, extending up the profile in mimicry of runners from the turn of the century. Bright yellow mesh and rubber piping complements both underneath and above, the latter taking the shape of a Swoosh belong the Off-White signature zip tie. Elsewhere, matching tabs sit adjacent while the tooling is blacked out along with the exposed Air unit.
