Jovani Hernandez Union LA’s Air Jordan 4 “Off Noir” may go down as the sneaker to experience the quickest change of public perception ever. And it launches in Europe tomorrow, September 30th.
Designed with some color-blocking reminiscent of both brands’ collaborative Jordan 1 duo from 2018, the pair is predominantly clad in the titular black hue. A mix of mesh, suede and rubber deliver texture and versatility to the dark arrangement, while accompanying hardware and accents further amplify those attributes. Profile flaps indulge in a white semi-translucent finish, which slightly hides the yellow “UN/LA” tag on the lateral side. Elsewhere, “Brigade Blue” and “Light Fusion Red” animate the collar and heel, with the latter tone also taking over the “AIR JORDAN” label on the folded tongue. Both colors also appear throughout the retro’s sole unit, but are overshadowed by the yellowed-tooling across the midsole and outsole.
