The adidas Response CL Is Coming Soon In Orange And Navy

Years prior, adidas had a penchant for turning their classics futuristic, resulting in a roster that was evidently dressed in the same language. But now, as they transition towards a new approach, the Three Stripes have effectively dialed back the clock as they’ve released faithful recreations of past staples as well as new yet old-inspired silhouettes like the Response CL.

An homage to the innovation of the 2000s — Adiprene, Adiprene+, Formotion, Promoderator, adiwear, and Torsion — the pair is jam packed with a number of structural upgrades, while its frame, by comparison, masks such technology with an unassuming frame. Leather overlays and synthetic molds are strewn about in aggressive fashion, their angular paneling hued in white, navy, and a new coat of Collegiate Orange. The latter sees to the Three Stripe logos on the side, the inside and outside tongue, as well as the decals seen at the tooling’s heel as well as the counter; mesh, then, creates a neutral, familiar base that’s bereft of any color.
