The adidas NMD R1 Nearly Recreates The OG Colorway

The adidas NMD R1 Nearly Recreates The OG Colorway

It’s hard to believe that it has already been five years since adidas debuted the NMD_R1, an icon that rapidly became one of the brand’s most popular lifestyle sneakers. And to celebrate its legacy, the brand has unveiled a colorway that evokes nostalgia as it bears similarities to the NMD OG .

As with the preceding pair, the new offering also sports Core Black knit uppers and a white Boost midsole. Instead of the Three Stripes branding on the sides painted in a matching black for a barely-there look, however, it takes a completely different route by opting for reflective detailing. The iconic blue and red midsole plugs have also tweaked their positions and colors. For a futuristic touch, the blue midsole mold is now near the heel and features a metallic finish; a more orangey shade of red is used for the red block, which is now closer to the toe.

The pair will be available at adidas.com on December 6, so enjoy official images below in the meantime.

For more stories about the Stripes, the Ultra Boost DNA “Animal Pack” will be released on December 8.
