The adidas Dame 7 Is Arriving Soon In A Celebratory Chinese New Year Edition

The adidas Dame 7 Is Arriving Soon In A Celebratory Chinese New Year Edition

As Chinese New Year gets closer, footwear brands continue to experiment with intricate patterns, traditional emblems, and symbolic colors to deliver festive colorways. Following the Ultra Boost DNA, the Dame 7 is the next adidas proposition to get celebration-ready.

In true Lunar New Year fashion, the pair sees bright red, mesh-like textile uppers that are balanced by the black used for the heel and midsole. Instead of a stark black, the midsole is speckled with gold paint to further the holiday theme. The metallic shade is also used for the embroidered Chinese character on the suede panel near the heel. The text reads “ox” in Chinese, representative of 2021’s zodiac sign—a small detail that ties the design together for a celebratory style.

The Dame 7 will be available overseas on December 31, for $110 USD. For U.S. adidas fans, stay tuned for a release date.

Interested in other CNY sneakers? The Air Jordan 5 “Chinese New Year” features tear-away uppers.

Updated January 5th, 2021: The US release date is confirmed for January 22nd, 2021.
