First Look At The Nike Dunk Low “Michigan”

First Look At The Nike Dunk Low “Michigan”

Although much attention is being paid to NIKE, Inc. as it heads into 2021 for its sure-bet, upcoming innovation, countless sneaker enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating to see how the sportswear behemoth continues to manage the Nike Dunk Low.

Once a college basketball-staple; the jump-off point for Nike SB‘s successful (re)launch; and outlet-bound, Peter Moore’s 1985 silhouette has overtaken the sneaker world’s consciousness unlike ever before over the last three years. While rumored as heading to the Nike By You platform in the near future, it’s evident that the Air Jordan 1-reminiscent silhouette still has a lot of in-line plans, one of them being a “Varsity Maize/Midnight Navy/White” colorway inspired by the University of Michigan.

The Wolverines’ team colors haven’t donned the model’s low-top trim since 1999 (Off-White‘s 2019 collaboration used a similar “University Gold”), but they’ve appeared on the Dunk High a handful of times since then–the latest having been on September 23rd, 2020. As with its tallest counterpart, the Dunk Low features a “Varsity Maize” base overlaid with “Midnight Navy” panels around the toe, along the tongue and throughout the heel. Profile swooshes and branding on the tongue follow suit in the deep blue, but “NIKE” text on the heel indulge in the eye-catching yellow. Underfoot, the “Michigan” proposition–which is scheduled to launch for both adults and kids (pictured below)–opts into a tried-and-proven “White” midsole/”Midnight Navy” outsole combination.

Full details of a Nike SNKRS launch are still unknown, but this two-tone retro is likely to arrive in the first half of 2021. In the meantime, enjoy a brief look at the pair here below.
