The Nike Waffle One Set To Arrive In A Sleek Black

The Nike Waffle One Set To Arrive In A Sleek Black

As NIKE, Inc. bets big on future-thinking technology (i.e. Crater Foam), it’s constantly revisiting its storied archive to determine what deserves or needs an update. The company’s latest introspective effort has resulted in the Nike Waffle One, another update to the Swoosh’s iconic racer from 1977.

Visually, the new model resembles celebrated designs from both sacai and UNDERCOVER with its near-transparent mesh and layered heel tooling. Although previously-seen iterations indulge in eye-catching “Active Fuchsia” and “University Gold” tones, a newly-surfaced pair reveals equally-notable, understated propositions. Underfoot, the sole unit boasts a tried-and-proven “White/Black” color combination, but the tread is given a slight-modification: Stripe cutouts towards the forefoot deliver visual contrast, as does the red tab directly underneath the heel.

Enjoy official images of the Waffle One here below, and expect pairs to arrive to Nike.com in the first-half of 2021.

For more from the Swoosh, check out the Air Force 1 B “3M Snake” set to return for the first time since 2001 on January 28th.

UPDATE (04/14/2021):
This Nike Waffle One is anticipated to launch on May 13th.
