While the performance basketball category isn’t the powerhouse and culture-mover like it used to be, the Air Jordan 35 has seemingly broken through those shifts. Nearly every colorway delivered by the Jumpman has cleared out of store shelves, proving that thoughtful design and striking colorways is all a hoop shoe really needs in order to spark consumer interest. The 35 has indeed been so well-received, and it seems like the brand had anticipated its success simply due to the vast library of colorways that have surfaced thus far, and this first look at this grey/black/infrared is just another reason why the XXXV might be one of the most successful Air Jordan game shoes of the post-retirement era.
Adding a bit of a high-end appeal is the use of quilted materials; we’ve seen the brand utilize this tool in a number of premium-trim Air Jordans of the past, and this upcoming release proves once again that in doses, quilted suede/leather is still as attractive as ever. Finally, to contrast the black/grey palette is hits of the signature infrared on the logos.
A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but expect these at Jordan retailers soon for $185. In other news, check out the store list for the Jordan 3 Cool Grey.
