This Nike Daybreak Type Utilizes Recycled Grind Rubber For The Exterior Heel

Nike stepped into the new year with a slew of sustainability-focused offerings that used the brand’s innovative recycled woolen fabrics and Regrind rubber. To follow up, the Swoosh is now reprising Regrind outsoles on a collection of canvas-clad, vintage-inspired runners such as the Nike Challenger and the Nike D/MS/X Waffle. Next to join is a Daybreak Type that replaces its customary black rubber Waffle material with Regrind.

The N.354-branded silhouette indulges in canvas uppers tinted in a grey Photon Dust. Team Orange is applied to the eyestays and an overlay on the forefoot, adding unexpected pops of color. Hits of green as seen on overlays elsewhere and the tongue label add even more brightness to contrast the neutral uppers. Black contrast stitches to outline the side Swoosh and decorate the overlays further balances all the colors. The speckled Regrind material is not only found underfoot; Unlike other propositions among the pack, the recycled material goes beyond covering the outsole by also constructing the exterior heel.

Get a closer look at the Daybreak Type below while waiting for the pair to arrive at Nike.com with a retail price of $90.

For more heritage-inspired trainers, Social Status just teased an exclusive Nike Waffle One.
